Bastard Sword

Although this bastard sword was seen in many part of Europe during the Dark Ages, it is originally the Swiss and Germans that carried these swords. The term bastard undoubtedly comes from the fact that this type of sword is a hybrid of a single handed sword and a two handed sword. This sword was developed for the foot soldiers and was used all over Europe by the 1500’s.
