LOTR Collection Part 2
In the First Lord of the Rings collectible article, we have described some of the swords that are available for swords collectors. Below you will find other interesting weapons that have been used during the LOTR movies.
I should have talked about this sword earlier simply because it is used by the main character in the LOTR movies, Frodo.
Frodo’s Sword
Sting - the sword of Frodo is a magical sword forged by the ancient Elves. This sword was given to Frodo by Bilbo to defend himself against during is perilous journey to destroy the ring. The inscription on the blade says: “Maegnas is my name i am the spider’s bane”. This sword like all other United Cutlery LOTR swords comes with a certificate of authenticity. Frodo’s Sting scabbard is also available.
WitchKing ’s Weapons
The Witchking of Angmar also known as the Lord of the Nazgul is the chief servant of the dark lord Sauron. The sword of the witchking was forged by the evil swordsmith under the supervision of Sauron himself. It is one of the most popular items amongst LOTR swords collector. On top of that you can get your hands on War Helm of the Witchking, an impressive and exact replica of the props used in the movie. This helmet was actually recreated using the original movie props mold.
Uruk-Hai
The original Uruks were of Sauron’s breeding, but the one seen in the LOTR trilogy are of Saruman’s breeding, they are an improved race compared to their predecessors, they are more resistant to sunlight and carry a whole new set of weapons like the Uruk-Hai Scimitar.
Arwen
The sword of Arwen - Hadhafang once belonged to the beautiful Elven princess Idril, the mother of Arwen’s father, Elrond. This sword was wielded by Elrond himself during the great battle against Sauron. The inscription on Hadhafang blase says:
“This blade is called Hadhafang, a noble defence against the enemy throng for a noble lady.”
King Theoden
King Theoden, the ruler of Rohan was saved from the malediction of Saruman. King Theoden Sword - Herugrim is probably on of my favourite LOTR sword available, the quality and the design of this sword reminds me of ancient roman swords, to the exception that this one is highly detailed. This sword was used during the defence of Helm’ Deep.
Legolas
Finally the one and only Legolas. He is the chosen one to represent the elves in the Fellowship of the ring. Legolas is a master at both Archery and close combat, but unlike most the Elves warrioir, Legolas does not use the High Elven Warrior sword but a combination of knives. Legolas fighting knives are design with the natural harmony of the elves and are deadly weapons in his hands.
This concludes our second article describing the various Lord of the Rings Swords used during the Movies.
