Paul Chen Cromwell Sword

This sword you see here is an authentic replica of the sword carried by Oliver Cromwell at the battle of Drogheda in 1649. The original sword is extremely well preserved and is currently a part of the collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Oliver Cromwell (1599 – 1658) was a powerful figure in English history during and after the English Civil War, when he rose from the rank of Captain of Horse to Lord Protector of England.

The replica you see below is an accurate reproduction of the mortuary hilt style which also features a blackened guard decorated in a gold foliage pattern with a wire-wound sharkskin grip.

Since the original sword was found without a scabbard, we have included a design typical of the period.
