Cold Steel - 1860 U.S. Heavy Cavalry Saber

This is the sword that used to be called the "Old Wrist Breaker" during the American Civil War. During those hard time , there were two types of sabre carried by Federal Cavalry. The "Light" and the "Heavy". The Heavy Cavalry Saber like the one below is the most prestigious, the one that was worth owning.

 

The one you see below is the 1860 U.S. Heavy Cavalry Saber replica, forged by Cold Steel. This is the improved version with a 36" blade made of 1055 carbon steel with hard spring temper.
